Manage your lifts day to day from the building network
Once the master unit is connected to the building network, the caretaker manages the lifts from any browser at liftdisplays.local — no app to install and no cloud account to maintain.
Log in at liftdisplays.local
With the master unit plugged into the building network, the caretaker browses to liftdisplays.local and logs in. Because the interface is served locally, it is reached from a computer or phone on the same network without any external service. You can also login to the masters own wifi if in range. This is separate from the installer's configurator: it is the everyday control panel for the system.
Put a floor display out of order
A caretaker can place an individual floor display into an out-of-order state, showing a clear notice to passengers at that landing while the rest of the system carries on as normal. It is the quick way to flag a problem floor without involving an engineer.
Brightness and automatic dimming
Screen brightness is adjustable to suit the lighting in each location. Displays can also dim automatically when the lift is not being used and return to full brightness on use, which saves energy and helps the screens last longer in continuous service.
Volume and building-wide messages
Announcement volume is set from the same interface, so the caretaker can match the speech level to a quiet lobby or a noisy public concourse. The caretaker can also post a message across every screen at once or individual screens— for example, "Fire alarm testing at 2pm today" — and clear it just as easily. It is a simple way to keep everyone in the building informed through screens they already look at.
Frequently asked questions
How does the caretaker reach the controls?
By browsing to liftdisplays.local from a computer or phone on the building network, once the master unit is connected to it or by login to masters local wifi network if in range.
Is an internet connection or cloud account needed?
No. The caretaker interface is served on the building's own network or wifi and does not require an external service to operate.
What can the caretaker change?
Out-of-order notices on individual floor displays, screen brightness, automatic dimming, announcement volume, operating times and building-wide messages across all or individual screens.
Is this the same thing as the configurator?
No. The configurator is used to set the installation up. The caretaker interface at liftdisplays.local is for everyday operation afterwards.
Can a message be shown on every screen at once?
Yes. A single message, such as a fire alarm test notice, can be posted across all displays or individually and cleared again from one place.
