Display sizes, touch and mechanical button options

Lift Displays supports a range of display sizes to suit the location. Large landscape displays suit the main car and busy ground-floor lobbies where position, direction and messages need to be visible at a glance. Compact rectangular indicators suit landings and smaller cars where space is limited. Because every panel is driven by the same master unit, sizes can be mixed within a single building without complicating the wiring.

Each station can use a touchscreen, mechanical push-buttons alongside a display, or a combination of the two. Touchscreens give a clean, configurable front that can be updated without changing hardware. Mechanical push-buttons are preferred where users expect a physical control or where robustness in heavy public use is the priority. Both options report calls to the same system, so the choice is about the passenger experience, not the underlying integration.

A typical installation uses a car panel inside the lift and a landing panel at each floor. Car panels usually carry the full set of floor-call buttons and the main display; landing panels carry the call and an indicator. Lift Displays drives both from one master unit, and the same speaker-and-microphone hardware is fitted throughout, so any panel can announce floor information, indicate visually, and accept a voice call to dispatch the lift — supporting the accessibility expectations of EN 81-70.

Real buildings are rarely uniform. A single lift might pair a large touchscreen in the car with mechanical buttons on a service landing and compact round indicators elsewhere.
